Soft group boundaries

Minimum suitability

Between “zero fit” and “full fit”, suitability changes gradually. The weakest criterion determines the fit. Share values use 0–1.

On-demand service assumptions

Extra time is added before the saved journey, assuming an earlier pickup catches the same train. A blank value is unknown.

Default: zero additional service minutes. This is an optimistic timing assumption, not an operating-service estimate.

Candidates are ranked across all saved stations before attribution to AR. Outside-station alternatives remain available in each OD comparison.

Read the evidence correctly

Addressable trips satisfy the selected journey criteria. Realistic potential shows the existing behavioral scenario only where the same OD and demand are covered. Missing coverage is never treated as zero conversion.

The behavioral scenarios are exploratory and uncalibrated. Constrained destination parking adds 10 minutes to driving; easy parking adds none. Both assume 3 minutes for station parking.

On-demand has no behavioral estimate. Its suitability is conditional on the service assumptions.

Operator kilometres are estimated along intermediate GTFS stops. The feed supplies no rail track shapes or tariff distances. Revenue is a gross scenario, not profit or guaranteed additional receipts.

Existing behavioral mode shares are paired with the selected national itinerary for revenue. They have not been recalibrated to that itinerary.
